7- Unsaturated Polyester Resins
|
Similar to saturated polyesters, they are
formulated via esterification and polymerization process.
Due to the presence of styrene monomers, a radical
reaction (with a peroxide initiator) occurs which results
in resin curing. Unsaturated polyesters have excellent
mechanical properties and are highly fast drying. They can
be used in automotive and plastic industries,storage
tanks, etc. UPE 500 is the prefix of the codes belonging
to this group.
