3. Short-Oil Alkyd Resins   (oil content 26 – 45%)

There are two kinds of Short-Oil Alkyd Resin:

a.     Drying resins
b.     Non-drying resins
Due to the lower oil content, drying resins have shorter drying time. Non-drying resins, because of the lower amount of conjugated bonds in the oil structure, are used in combination with other resins such as amino, isocyante and nitrocellulose resins. In order to achieve better adhesion and impactability, a mixture of both drying and non-drying resins can be used. Short-Oil Alkyd resins are mainly used in stoving and appliance coatings¡automotive paint and coatings for steel structures.
The product code starts with AL and prefix 300.
